If you love cats but aren’t sure if it’s the right time for you to adopt, try fostering. By fostering a cat, you provide them a loving, temporary home until we can find them one forever. You get the joys of feline companionship without the commitment that adoption entails: Fosters are only responsible for the costs of food, litter, and toys, as well as bringing cats to our weekly adoption events!

Why Foster?

Because we do not have a shelter, foster homes are the heart of our rescue. Without fosters, we cannot save lives.

🐾 I’ve never fostered before. Can I still foster?
Absolutely! Many of our fosters are first-timers. We’ll help guide you through the process and match you with a cat that fits your experience level.

🐾 How long do foster cats stay with me?
It depends on the cat, but most foster placements last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. We’ll discuss expected timelines before placement. If you have a holiday plan in advance, don’t worry we can find another foster!!

🐾 I work full-time. Can I still foster?
Yes! Many foster cats do well with working professionals. We can help find a foster cat that matches your schedule and lifestyle.

🐾 I live in a small apartment. Is that okay?
Definitely. Cats don’t need a huge amount of space. A safe, loving home is far more important than square footage.

🐾 I already have a cat (or dog). Can I foster?
In many cases, yes! We can help match you with a cat that is likely to do well with other pets and provide guidance on introductions.

🐾 What expenses am I responsible for?
Fosters typically provide food, litter, toys, and everyday supplies. We cover approved veterinary care.

🐾 What if my foster cat gets sick?
Don’t worry. All the medical cost is covered by us. Please let us know, so we can book our partnered vet appointment.

🐾 What if I fall in love with my foster cat?
It happens all the time! Foster failures are actually foster successes. You’ll have the opportunity to adopt if it’s the right fit :)

🐾 Do I have to bring my foster cat to adoption events?
We ask fosters to help with adoption events whenever possible, as meeting potential adopters helps cats find homes faster. If attending regularly isn’t possible, let’s talk and see what works. Our adoption event is on Saturday at Petco UWS 2-6pm.
